The Crime and Deviance Specialization is open to students enrolled in a Four-Year General or an Honours Sociology academic plan. This specialization allows students in Sociology the opportunity to develop a concentration of courses in the areas of criminology, deviance, and social control that will be noted on their degree transcript.
Requirements
The Crime and Deviance Specialization requires successful completion of four academic course units (eight courses), including:
- at least six of SOC 201, 222, 223, 226, 227, 228, 229, 325, 327, 370, 428,
- and the remaining courses from: SOC 204, 249, 258, 262, 368, 372, 421, 498
Notes:
- SOC 498 must be in an area of crime or deviance and approved by the Department.
- Students who elect to obtain a Legal Studies Minor are not eligible for this Specialization.
