Arts Academic Plans

A Joint Honours academic plan with Speech Communication may be taken in combination with most Arts disciplines in which an Honours academic plan is offered or with many Honours majors in other Faculties.

Continuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative overall average of 60% and a cumulative Speech Communication average of 75%.

Eligibility for graduation in the Joint Honours Speech Communication academic plan includes fulfillment of the following requirements:

1. Appropriate Program-level requirements for the Home Faculty, including at least 20 academic course units (40 courses). If the Home Faculty is Arts, see Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
2. Speech Communication Plan-level requirements:
   • at least seven academic course units (14 courses) in SPCOM and Speech Communication approved courses with a minimum cumulative average of 75%, including:
     • SPCOM 100, 101, 220 223, 226, 228, 399
     • two of SPCOM 225, 227, 324, 325; SPCOM 102/DRAMA 102; SPCOM 300/DAC 300/ENGL 303; SPCOM 323/ENGL 309E; SPCOM 326/DRAMA 326; SPCOM 329/DAC 329
     • three of SPCOM 401, 402, 404, 420, 430, 431, 432, 433, SPCOM 434/ENGL 309G/HIST 309; SPCOM 440/DRAMA 440; SPCOM 475, 490, 491
     • Approved Courses: two of ANTH 351; DRAMA 221, 222, 402, 405, 409; ENGL 210E, 210F, 210H, 210I, 306A-D, 306F, 306G, 319, 320, 392A, 407, 408C; FINE 255R; HIST 200, 213, 221, 351; HRM 200; MSCI 211, 311, 421; PACS 201, 202, 313, 323; PHIL 145, 200J,  204J, 318J, 363, 418J; PHIL 202/WS 222, PHIL 215/ARBUS 202; PSCI 334, 387, 456; PSYCH 253/253R, 338, 339, 340, 353, 354/354R; PSYCH 349R/SWREN 349R or PSYCH 352; RS 322; SMF 306, 307; SOC 234, 237, 243, 246, 256, 315, 336, 345, 410; STV 202, 302; WS 201, 202, 207
3. Plan-level requirements for the second major.
