Continuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative overall average of 60% and a cumulative average of 65% in SMF and SMF approved courses.
Eligibility for graduation in the Four-Year General Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies academic plan includes successful fulfilment of the following requirements:
- Appropriate BA Program-level requirements. See "Bachelor of Arts."
- Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies Plan-level requirements:
- at least nine academic course units (18 courses) in SMF and SMF approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:
- six required courses:
- SMF 204/PSYCH 236
- SMF 205, 206, 207
- one of SMF 304, 305, 365
- one of SMF 306/PSYCH 354, SMF 307, 366
- 12 approved courses:
- three courses from each of the following areas:
- Theory: ANTH 380, 404; ARTS/FINE 260; PHIL 210J, 318J; PSYCH 318; SMF 208, 308, 309, 367, 460; SMF 306/PSYCH 354; SOC 369J; SOCWK 321R
- Ethics: ANTH 350; ENGL 208N; ISS 350G, 350H; JS 120/RS 111; PHIL 219J; RS 150, 254; SMF 310; SOC 355J
- Humanities: ENGL 108E, 208C, 208E, 217; HIST 108, 213, 313; ITALST 111; PHIL 201, 202; RS 180, 324; WS 101

- the 12 approved courses must be taken in at least four different disciplines

SMF 204 and PSYCH 236 are antirequisites; students are not permitted to take both courses for credit towards their degree.

No one course may fulfill more than one requirement within any Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies plan.
