St. Paul's supports the University of Waterloo by providing a unique learning environment that educates social innovators to shape a just and humane world. The College offers UW courses and student residences which are open to all University of Waterloo students.
St. Paul’s partners with the Faculty of Environmental Studies in providing the new degree program in International Development, which educates students to create positive change that is effective, sustainable and responsible. The College also participates in the University's Department of Religious Studies in the Faculty of Arts.
UW's Aboriginal Services Coordinator resides at St. Paul's, offering a wide array of culturally relevant academic and personal supports and information. An Aboriginal student lounge provides a place for interested students to gather. Aboriginal students living in St. Paul's residence benefit from their proximity to Aboriginal services.
UW’s Living-Learning Community for students in the Faculty of Environmental Studies is located in St. Paul’s residence. Living-Learning Communities are small groups of students from the same faculty or program that live together in the same area of residence. Students benefit from building supportive relationships and accessing special residence programming.
One section of St. Paul’s residence, "La Bastille," is designated UW’s French Floor, offering students an opportunity to further develop their French skills. This program is provided in co-operation with the French Studies Department and is open to any student in any faculty.
St. Paul's residence is also available to any UW student. The undergraduate dormitory is home to 194 first-year and upper-year students. About 100 graduate students reside in a separate building in our graduate community. Residence life in the College provides a valuable contribution to a student's university experience. Through a program of community dinners, interest groups, and social activities rich in tradition, students learn from each other and together form a vital and enriching community.
