Brystra Award in Science and Business
An award, valued at up to $500, is awarded annually to an undergraduate student enrolled in the Science and Business program in the Faculty of Science who has achieved a minimum overall average of 75% and who has a demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students in Year Three or Four of the program. In the event there are no eligible students in third or fourth year, the award will be offered to the most suitable candidate in Year Two or Year One. This fund is made possible by a donation from Dr. Thomas A. Bryant and Dr. Robin Reenstra-Bryant.
Dr. Jack Carlson Memorial Award
This fund has been established in memory of Dr. Jack Carlson by his family, and has been named in his honour. The award, valued at approximately $1,000, will provide assistance to a full-time undergraduate third- or fourth-year student who has achieved academic excellence and who is enrolled in a Biology program in the Faculty of Science at the University of Waterloo. Preference will be given to students enrolled in one or more human physiology courses. Interested students who have achieved a minimum overall average of 75% and who have financial need are invited to submit an application by October 15.
Elsie Chisholm IODE Bursary
A bursary, valued at $500, is awarded annually to an undergraduate student enrolled in any year of the Pharmacy program who demonstrates financial need. Preference is given to students who completed secondary school in Oakville, Ontario. To be considered, students must complete the Full-time Bursary application by February 28. This award is made possible by a gift from the Angela Bruce Chapter IODE, in memory of Elsie Chisholm. The bursary recognizes both Elsie’s career as a pharmacist, and IODE’s commitment to improving the quality of life for children, youth and those in need, through education, social services and citizenship programs.
Manrex Mediation Delivery Bursary
A bursary, valued at $1,000, is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Four (Term 4A) in the School of Pharmacy, who has demonstrated financial need as determined by uWaterloo. To be considered, students must complete the Full-time Bursary/Award Application by June 15. This fund is made possible by a donation from Manrex Limited of Winnipeg, a leading provider of medication delivery systems, particularly in long-term care environments.
Physics Alumni Award
A fund has been established by University of Waterloo alumni to provide financial assistance to students in Physics or Physics and Business. Depending on funds available, awards valued at $500 or more may be provided to students in second year or above who have a strong academic record and a demonstrated financial need. Eligible students must have resided in Ontario for 12 months prior to the beginning of their post-secondary education.
School of Optometry and Vision Science Undergraduate Student Opportunity Award
Several awards are provided annually to support academically qualified students experiencing financial difficulties. The fund is made possible by donations from interested donors and by a matching grant from the Province of Ontario. Eligible students must have resided in Ontario for 12 months prior to the beginning of their post-secondary education.

Rosemary and Ken Taylor Bursary Fund
Bursaries, valued at up to $3,000 each, may be awarded annually to undergraduate Mathematics or Science students enrolled in Year Two or Three who have demonstrated financial need and have maintained a 70% overall average. Preference will be given to students who are majoring in Computer Science. This fund is made possible by a donation from Rosemary and Ken Taylor to recognize students who encounter financial difficulties that could prevent them from completing their studies.
