Continuation in this academic plan requires a minimum cumulative overall average of 60% and a minimum cumulative Communication Studies major average of 70%.
Eligibility for graduation in the Honours Communication Studies academic plan includes successful completion of the following requirements:
- Appropriate program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
- Communication Studies plan-level requirements:
- a minimum cumulative Communication Studies major average of 70%
- at least eight academic course units (16 courses) in SPCOM or DAC courses, including:
- SPCOM 100, SPCOM 101, SPCOM 220/THPERF 220, SPCOM 223, SPCOM 226, SPCOM 228, SPCOM 399
- nine courses, three of which must be at the 400-level, from the following: THPERF 282, THPERF 284, THPERF 371, THPERF 376, THPERF 378, any DAC course, any additional SPCOM course
Arts and Business (Co-op and Regular)
Students may combine the Honours Communication Studies academic plan with Arts and Business. In addition to the Honours Communication Studies requirements, students must also complete the Arts and Business requirements.
Honours Double Majors
Honours Communication Studies may be taken in combination with most Arts majors in which an honours major is offered or with many honours majors in other faculties. For further information, see the double majors section of Available Arts Academic Plans.
