The Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at the University of Waterloo encourages students in their third year to study a term or two for credit in a Spanish language environment at a university abroad. This may be done through the Waterloo/Universidad de Nebrija program at the University Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain, or through the University of Holguín in Cuba. The cost per semester either at the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija or at the University of Holguín is currently similar to the cost of spending a semester on campus at Waterloo.
