Social Development Studies - Overview

Social Development Studies at Renison University College prepares students through an innovative interdisciplinary program to apply different perspectives to contemporary social issues and to impact individuals, families, and communities locally, nationally, and globally. Graduates from Social Development Studies have obtained successful employment in work areas such as the public service, the helping professions, not-for-profit agencies, and the private sector.

Social Development Studies is a social science program, which consists of Renison courses in interdisciplinary social science, psychology, social work, and sociology. The curriculum is designed to develop specific skills in critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal relations, leadership, and civic engagement. The various plans in Social Development Studies provide an excellent foundation for further studies in social work, education, theology, law, and graduate training.
