Continuation in this academic plan requires a minimum cumulative overall average of 60% and a minimum cumulative Spanish major average of 65%.
Eligibility for graduation in the Three-Year General Spanish academic plan includes successful completion of the following requirements:
- Appropriate program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
- Spanish plan-level requirements:
- a minimum cumulative Spanish major average of 65%
- at least six academic course units (12 courses) in Spanish, including:

- If any required courses are waived for students with advanced language skills, they must be replaced with SPAN electives.
- By agreement, students at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University are allowed to take courses in Spanish at either university.
- With the permission of the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies, students may study at a university in Spain or Latin America.
