Continuing in the Science and Aviation, Earth Specialization program requires a cumulative overall average of 65% and a cumulative Science average of 65%. Flight training courses offered through the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) are not included in any cumulative average calculations. Instead, students receive credit (CR) for each course they successfully complete.
Successful completion of this program requires:
20.0 units distributed as follows:
- 5.5 EARTH units: EARTH 121, EARTH 121L, EARTH 122, EARTH 122L, EARTH 221, EARTH 231, EARTH 232, EARTH 235, EARTH 238, EARTH 260, EARTH 342, and EARTH 471
- 1.5 additional EARTH elective units distributed as follows:
- 1.5 CHEM units: CHEM 120, CHEM 120L, CHEM 123, and CHEM 123L
- 1.0 PHYS units: PHYS 111 and PHYS 112
- 6.5 AVIA units: AVIA 100, AVIA 101, AVIA 102, AVIA 203, AVIA 204, AVIA 205, AVIA 306, AVIA 307, AVIA 310, AVIA 320, and AVIA 408
- 1.0 MATH unit: MATH 127 and MATH 128
- 0.5 STAT unit: STAT 202
- 0.5 CS unit chosen from: CS 100 or CS 115
- 1.0 GEOG unit: GEOG 181 and GEOG 309
- 0.5 GEOG unit chosen from: GEOG 271 or GEOG 281
- 0.5 SCCOM unit: SCCOM 100
Additional Program Conditions:
- AVIA 101, 102, 203, 204, 205, 306, 307, and 408 are the Professional Pilot Program flight training courses offered by and assessed through the WWFC. All other AVIA courses are offered and assessed by Waterloo.
- The passing grade in each WWFC flight training course is 70%. Credit must be obtained in each course to progress to the next one. Normally, students can repeat each course only once, if there is a failed first attempt.
- A maximum of 2.0 failed units is permitted for all Waterloo courses.
Note
PHYS 121 and PHYS 122 can substitute for PHYS 111 and PHYS 112.
