An option is a specified combination or grouping of courses which provides the student with an emphasis in a particular discipline. The Tourism Option is available to all University of Waterloo undergraduate degree students. The option is designed for students specializing in tourism impacts, tourism planning, tourism marketing, heritage, and outdoor recreation.
The requirements for the Tourism Option are eight courses (four core and four elective) with a minimum cumulative overall average of 65%. Environment students must have approval of the Office of the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies, Faculty of Environment to use their thesis towards this option. Recreation and Leisure Studies students should seek advice from the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies academic advisor.
