Italian Studies at St. Jerome's University (SJU), in conjunction with the Corso di Laurea in Lettere of the University of Calabria (Unical), offers term or full-year studies at the Italian university, under the auspices of the tripartite exchange agreement between SJU, University of Waterloo, and Unical. Students in various disciplines may apply, provided they have an adequate knowledge of Italian (normally ITAL 201, ITAL 202, or equivalent). Students enrolled in the Italian Studies Minor academic plan may transfer some or all units taken at Unical's above-mentioned program of studies towards the fulfillment of their plan at Waterloo, subject to the University of Waterloo's Faculty of Arts residency requirements and transfer credit policies.
