Russian and East European Studies

Russian and East European Studies - Overview

In addition to basic language competency, which includes Russian and Croatian, the program in Russian and East European Studies (REES) includes courses in culture, literature, and linguistics, taught in English. The unique interdisciplinary nature of the program is stressed by the fact that some courses which count toward the REES degree are offered by other departments such as Economics, Fine Arts, History, and Political Science. Students are encouraged to spend part of their studies in a Slavic-speaking country.

Our graduates typically pursue careers in business, government, and higher education. We invite you to visit the Germanic and Slavic Studies website for more information, including alumni profiles.
