An option is a specified combination or grouping of courses which provides the student with an emphasis in a particular discipline.
The Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies has available the following options to students in honours or general plans:
- Parks Option
- Tourism Option
The requirements for the option are eight courses (four core and four elective) with a minimum cumulative overall average of 65%.
Students interested in pursuing an option should speak with the academic advisor by the beginning of second year.
Parks Option

Notes
- Only the second completed course of REC 433/ENVS 433 or ENVS 444/REC 437 may be counted as a Parks Option elective.
- Students interested in working for the Canadian Federal Government are encouraged to take French language courses.
Tourism Option
