Continuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative overall average of 60% and a cumulative Speech Communication average of 75%.
Eligibility for graduation in the Honours Speech Communication academic plan includes fulfillment of the following requirements:
- Appropriate Program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
- Speech Communication Plan-level requirements:
- at least nine academic course units (18 courses) in SPCOM and Speech Communication approved courses with a minimum cumulative average of 75%, including:
- SPCOM 100, 223, 225, 227, 324
- four courses (two courses in each of two areas of concentration):
- Intercultural Communication: SPCOM 226, 401, 402, 404
- Interpersonal and Organizational Communication: SPCOM 325, 432, 433, 475
- Performance Studies: SPCOM 102, 220, 326, 440
- Public and Digital Communication: SPCOM 228, 300, 323, 329, 420, 430, 431, 434
- three additional SPCOM courses at the 300-level or higher, two of which must be at the 400-level
- two approved courses each from two areas of concentration to match the chosen Speech Communication areas of concentration:

- Students must declare their two areas of concentration with the department undergraduate advisor at the end of their 1B term.
- Consultation with the department undergraduate advisor is highly recommended to ensure that students can fulfill all the academic plan requirements during the terms that they are on campus.
