Students enrolled in any Honours or Four-Year General Major academic plan may pursue a minor designation in Spanish and Latin American Studies.
The Spanish Minor requires successful completion of a minimum of five academic course units (ten courses) in Spanish with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:
- No more than one unit of SPAN courses taught in the English language may be counted toward the Minor in Spanish.
Please consult the Undergraduate Officer in Spanish for the Spanish Minor.
Notes:
- By agreement, students at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University can be expected to take courses in Spanish at either university. While most language courses are taught concurrently every year at both universities, most other courses are taught either at one university or the other, and a few courses may rotate from year to year.
- With the permission of the Department, students may spend the third year enrolled in an acceptable university in Spain or Latin America.
- Students in Years Three and Four must have the permission of the home department to enrol in Spanish courses at the 100- or 200-level.
