Notes

1. Students are required to take one Natural Science Research Methods Course and one Social Science Research Methods Course as noted above.

  • Normally, students will take no more than one of these courses per term.
  • Students not doing an Honours Thesis may substitute PSYCH 465 (Applied Apprenticeship) or PSYCH 467 (Human Resources Apprenticeship) for one of these two research requirements.

2. Students entering Honours Psychology in Year Three should consult the Psychology Undergraduate Office for further information regarding the sequence for taking Psychology courses.

Honours Thesis

The Honours Thesis (PSYCH 499A/B/C) course is optional but recommended for Honours Psychology Majors who are a)considering graduate or professional programs that may require a completed honours thesis for admission, or b) who have a strong interest in, and commitment to, conducting original research.  For those who choose to do an Honours Thesis, PSYCH 499A/B/C (worth 1.5 units) will count for three of the "Four PSYCH electives at the 300- or 400-level."  Please consult the Honours Thesis Handbook for further details regarding PSYCH 499.

Honours Psychology - Human Resources Management Specialization

Honours Psychology majors (BA or BSc) may pursue the Human Resources Management (HRM) Specialization. Consult the Honours Psychology BA section for further details regarding the HRM Specialization.
