Joint Honours Pure Mathematics

See "Academic Programs/Plans" for a complete description of joint plan requirements. Note that both specialization areas designated in such joint plans must be disciplines within the Faculty of Mathematics.

MATH 237 Calculus 3 for Honours Mathematics or MATH 247 Calculus 3 (Advanced Level)
PMATH 351 Real Analysis
PMATH 352 Complex Analysis

One of

PMATH 345 Polynomials, Rings and Finite Fields
PMATH 346 Group Theory

Four additional courses chosen from AMATH 333/PMATH 365, PMATH 345, 346, 354, 367, or any 400-level PMATH course.

One additional 300- or 400-level PMATH course.

Notes

The following requirements and recommendations also apply for the joint honours partners indicated:

  1. AMATH: AMATH 431/PMATH 451, AMATH 432/PMATH 453 strongly recommended.
  2. CO: at least one of PMATH 441, 442, 444 is strongly recommended.
  3. CS: one of PMATH 432, 441, 442, 444 is strongly recommended.
  4. STAT: AMATH 431/PMATH 451 strongly recommended.
