Academic Programs/Plans

Combination Honours Academic Plans within the Faculty of Mathematics

Double Honours "X" and "Y" Academic Plans - BMath only

All Honours requirements for both plans "X" and "Y" must be satisfied. "X" and "Y" refer to any two of Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics and Optimization, Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematical Physics, Operations Research, Pure Mathematics, Scientific Computation/Applied Mathematics, and Statistics (with the following exceptions: Combinatorics and Optimization cannot be doubled with Operations Research; Mathematical Physics cannot be doubled with either Applied Mathematics or Scientific Computation/Applied Mathematics; Scientific Computation/Applied Mathematics cannot be doubled with Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics or Computer Science). For each pairing of "X" and "Y," the names will appear in alphabetical order in the plan title. Note that with some "X" and "Y" combinations, it may be necessary to complete more than the minimum 40 courses (20 units) to satisfy all of the course requirements.

Joint Honours "X" and "Y" Academic Plans - BMath only

Joint Honours "X" and "Y" Academic Plans, in conjunction with the common degree requirements in Table I, require a total of 40 courses (20 units): the ten mathematics courses in the Faculty core (outlined in Table II) plus the Joint requirements of the two departments for a minimum of 28 mathematics courses, and at least ten non-math courses (five units). Joint requirements for each department can be found in the corresponding department description. "X" and "Y" refer to any two of Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics and Optimization, Computer Science, Pure Mathematics, and Statistics. For each pairing of "X" and "Y," the names will appear in alphabetical order in the plan title.

Honours "X" with "Y" Minor Academic Plans - BMath only

All Honours requirements for plan "X" and the specific requirements for plan "Y" must be satisfied. Requirements for each department may be found in the corresponding department description. "X" refers to any one of Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics and Optimization, Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematical Physics, Mathematics/Teaching Option, Operations Research, Pure Mathematics, Scientific Computation/Applied Mathematics, and Statistics. "Y" is different from "X" and refers to any one of Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics and Optimization, Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, and Statistics (with the following exceptions: students in Honours Scientific Computation/Applied Mathematics may not claim a minor in either Applied Mathematics or Computer Science; Mathematical Physics students may not claim an Applied Mathematics Minor; students in Computational Mathematics may not claim a Computer Science Minor).
