Three-Year General Women's Studies
Students interested in the Three-Year General Women's Studies academic plan will ordinarily be admitted at the beginning of Year Two.
Continuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative average of 60% and a cumulative Women's Studies average of 65%.
Eligibility for graduation in the Three-Year General Women's Studies academic plan includes successful fulfilment of the following requirements.
- Appropriate BA Program-level requirements. See "BA Degree Requirements."
- Women's Studies Plan-level requirements:
- at least 7.5 academic course units (15 courses) in Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:
- WS 101, 102, 201, 202, 205, 207, 302
- eight other courses from the list of Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses
Four-Year General Women's Studies
Students interested in the Four-Year General Women's Studies academic plan will ordinarily be admitted at the beginning of Year Two.

Four-Year General Women’s Studies, Issues in Entrepreneurship Specialization
This specialization in Women’s Studies, Issues in Entrepreneurship is designed for Women’s Studies majors wishing to learn about the many issues surrounding private enterprise. This specialization offers women and men the opportunity to gain knowledge of the global and national issues in small business ventures where women are in the majority.
Entry to the specialization requires the approval of the Director of Women's Studies.
Eligibility for graduation in the Four-Year General Women's Studies, Issues in Entrepreneurship Specialization includes successful fulfilment of the following requirements.
- Appropriate BA Program-level requirements. See "BA Degree Requirements."
- Women's Studies Plan-level requirements:
- at least 12 academic course units (24 courses) in Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:
- WS 101, 102, 201, 202, 205, 207, 302
- one of WS 365, 475
- six from the following pertinent courses: ECON 220; HIST113; MSCI 211; PSCI 231; PSYCH 438; SOC 243; or one of (ECON 221; ISS 250R; PSCI 214; SOC 280)
- ten other courses from the list of Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses

Four-Year General Women’s Studies, Science and Technology Specialization
This specialization in Women’s Studies, Science and Technology is designed for Women’s Studies majors wishing to learn about the main issues and questions about today’s science and technology in the context of gender based perspectives. The University of Waterloo is ideally equipped with numerous resources to offer this type of specialization stream. This specialization helps to link Women’s Studies with science and technology, rendering them more accessible as areas of study and activity.
Entry to the specialization requires the approval of the Director of Women's Studies.
Eligibility for graduation in the Four-Year General Women's Studies, Science and Technology Specialization includes successful fulfilment of the following requirements.

- at least 12 academic course units (24 courses) in Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:

Women's Studies Minor
A minor is available to students who would like some specialization in Women's Studies. Students in academic plans that allow minors may qualify for a Minor in Women's Studies by successful fulfilment of the following requirements:
- at least five academic course units (ten courses) in Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65% including:
- WS 101, 102, 302
- one of WS 201, 202
- one of WS 205, 207
- five other courses from the list of Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses
Minor in Women's Studies, Issues in Entrepreneurship
Students in academic plans that allow minors can obtain a Minor in Women's Studies, Issues in Entrepreneurship by successful fulfilment of the following requirements:

Women's Studies Option
The Women's Studies Option may be taken in combination with any General or Honours academic plan. Students in a General Liberal Studies academic plan can either sign up for the option or assemble a package of courses emphasizing Women's Studies. - at least three academic course units (six courses) in Women's Studies core, cross-listed and approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:
- WS 101
- two of WS 102, 201, 202, 205, 207, 302

Women's Studies Diploma
This Diploma is open only to individuals who are not pursuing a BA degree. A Diploma in Women's Studies may be helpful in understanding the dynamics of gender in social institutions, the workplace, government policy, and cultural and normative values. The Diploma is especially valuable for individuals interested in the health care, teaching or counselling professions, in social work, or in personnel and management fields.
Students with a university degree will be admitted and registered as post-degree students. Students without a university degree register as non-degree students. The Diploma requires successful fulfilment of the following:
