  1. Before each term, students should consult Italian Studies at St. Jerome's University, or the undergraduate website, to make their course selection.

However, students enrolled in these courses who are pursuing a Minor in Italian Language will have additional contact time, in Italian, and will be required to do their readings and assignments in Italian. Such students will enrol in "ITAL" rather than in "ITALST."

St. Jerome's/Waterloo in Calabria

Italian Studies at St. Jerome's University, in conjunction with the Corso di Laurea in Lettere of the University of Calabria (Unical), offers term or full-year studies at the Italian university, under the auspices of the tripartite exchange agreement between SJU/UW and Unical. Students in various disciplines may apply, provided they have an adequate knowledge of Italian (normally ITAL 201, 202 or equivalent). Students enrolled in the various Italian Studies academic plans may transfer some or all units taken at Unical's above mentioned program of studies towards the fulfilment of their Plan at Waterloo, subject to UW Faculty of Arts residency requirements and transfer credit policies. Enquiries should be forwarded to Professor Gabriel Niccoli (gniccoli@uwaterloo.ca), St. Jerome's/Waterloo in Calabria, St. Jerome's University.
