The theoretical and technological aspects of growing cells from multicellular organisms in vitro and the use of these cell cultures in cell biology, biotechnology, cancer research, developmental biology, immunology and toxicology. Specific topics will include tissue dissociation, media, contamination, microscopic examination, cell storage, cell fusion, heterokaryons, reconstituted cells, hybrids, hybridomas, and the introduction of macromolecules into cells.
