Arts Academic Plans

Continuation in this academic plan requires a minimum cumulative overall average of 60% and a minimum cumulative Communication Studies major average of 70%.

Eligibility for graduation in the Honours Communication Studies academic plan includes successful completion of the following requirements:

1. Appropriate program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
2. Communication Studies plan-level requirements:
   • a minimum cumulative Communication Studies major average of 70%
   • at least eight academic course units (16 courses) in COMMST or DAC courses, including:
     • COMMST 100, COMMST 101, COMMST 223, COMMST 226, COMMST 228, COMMST 399 
     • COMMST 220/THPERF 220 or COMMST 224/BLKST 224/THPERF 224
     • nine additional courses from COMMST or DAC, three of which must be at the 400-level

Arts and Business (Co-op and Regular)

Students may combine the Honours Communication Studies academic plan with Arts and Business. In addition to the Honours Communication Studies requirements, students must also complete the Arts and Business requirements.

Honours Double Majors

Honours Communication Studies may be taken in combination with most Arts majors in which an honours major is offered or with many honours majors in other faculties. For further information, see the double majors section of Available Arts Academic Plans.
