Three-Year General Science is only available in the regular system of study.
This plan allows students to pursue a broad range of Science subjects or focus, to a limited extent, in a particular Science subject area. Students graduate with a Bachelor of Science, Three-Year General program degree. Minors can be attached to this degree where permitted.
Continuing in Three-Year General Science requires a minimum cumulative overall average of 55% and a minimum cumulative Science average of 55%.
Successful completion requires:
15.0 units distributed as follows:
- 14.0 lecture units, which include:
- 1.0 Mathematics unit chosen from: ACTSC, AMATH, CO, CS, MATH, PMATH, STAT
- 6.5 Science units chosen from: BIOL, CHEM, EARTH, MNS, PHYS, SCI, with the following conditions:
- 1.0 unit must complete one Year One sequence
- 1.0 unit must complete a different Year One sequence
- 1.0 unit must be at the 300-level or higher, exclusive of SCI units
- 0.5 ENGL unit: ENGL 193/SPCOM 193
- 6.0 elective units chosen from any subject
- 1.0 Science lecture or lab unit (Note: Lab units are normally associated with Year One sequences)
Additional conditions:
- 7.5 lecture units must be at the 200-level or higher.
- Year One Science sequences are chosen from:
- A maximum of 3.0 SCI course units count towards the Science units.
- SCBUS courses do not count towards Science units.
- MATH 103 and SCI 237 do not count towards this plan.
- CS 100 and COMM and MTHEL courses do not count towards the Mathematics unit.
- A maximum of 1.0 lab unit counts towards the total units. Extra labs will be included in the average.
Notes
- PHYS 121 can be substituted for PHYS 111.
- PHYS 122 can be substituted for PHYS 112.
- PHYS 121L can be substituted for PHYS 111L.
- PHYS 122L can be substituted for PHYS 112L.
