Environment Academic Plans

Geomatics

Specializations for Geomatics

Students majoring in Honours Geomatics may choose to graduate with one of the following specializations. Specializations are not available to students pursuing Joint Honours Geomatics. Upper-year courses may not be taken without the appropriate prerequisites. It is recommended that students declare the addition of a specialization as early as possible by filing a Plan Modification Form.


Aviation Specialization

Requirements

  • AVIA 100 Introduction to Aviation
  • GEOG 207 Climate Change Fundamentals
  • GEOG 281 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • At least 3.0 units, including at least one capstone course:
  • At least 1.0 unit from the following:

Note

Up to 1.0 unit may be granted towards the 3.0 units requirement (not including the capstone course requirement) based on prior successful completion of Professional Pilot Program courses, or if a student has held a Transport Canada Private Pilot Licence. Proof of Transport Canada Private Pilot Licence must be provided and approved by the associate chair, undergraduate studies, Geography and Aviation prior to declaring this Specialization.
