Social Development Studies

Social Development Studies Minor

Students enrolled in any degree program may pursue a minor designation in Social Development Studies.

A Social Development Studies Minor requires successful completion of a minimum of four academic course units (eight courses) in SDS and Social Development Studies approved courses with a minimum cumulative minor average of 65%, including:

  1. Courses transferred from other institutions without a specific course equivalency to one of the courses in the four disciplines above cannot be counted towards the Social Development Studies Minor.
  2. Course selection should be made only after consultation with the Social Development Studies academic advisor. 
  3. For students in the Minor who do not have at least one course in statistics and one course in research, and especially those considering graduate studies in Social Work, SDS 250R and SDS 251R are strongly recommended.
