Continuation in this academic plan requires a minimum cumulative overall average of 60% and a minimum cumulative Sociology major average of 65%.
Eligibility for graduation in the Four-Year General Sociology academic plan includes successful completion of the following requirements:
- Appropriate program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
- Sociology plan-level requirements:
- a minimum cumulative Sociology major average of 65%
- at least eight academic course units (16 courses) in Sociology, including:
- SOC 101/SOC 101R, SOC 202, SOC 221/LS 221, SOC 280/LS 280, SOC 302, SOC 322/LS 322
- one of SOC 401, SOC 404, SOC 405, SOC 406, SOC 407, SOC 408, SOC 418
- three additional SOC courses at the 200-level
- three additional SOC courses at the 300-level
- three additional SOC courses at the 400-level; or SOC 499A, SOC 499B, and one additional SOC course at the 400-level
Note
At least four academic course units (eight courses) taken to fulfil the requirements of this academic plan must be unique to the plan, meaning they cannot be used to satisfy the requirements of any other plan (major, minor, etc.).
