Continuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative minimum overall average of 60% and a cumulative minimum French major average of 65%.
Eligibility for graduation in the Three-Year General French academic plan includes successful completion of the following requirements:
- Appropriate program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
- French plan-level requirements:
- a minimum French major average of 65%
- at least six academic course units (12 courses) in French, including:
- FR 192A, FR 192B, FR 250, FR 251, FR 252, FR 276, FR 296, FR 297, FR 351
- one of FR 203, FR 303
- one additional FR course at the 300-level or above
- one literature or culture course from FR 332, FR 343, FR 354, FR 363, FR 365, FR 367, FR 373, FR 375, FR 410, FR 424, FR 471, FR 473, FR 484, FR 485, FR 486, FR 487
Notes
- Francophone students and students who graduated from a French high school begin above FR 192A. Those students are still required to complete a minimum of 12 French courses above the FR 192A level.
- Students enrolled in a Three-Year General French degree exclusively online may substitute either an oral French course taken for credit at another post-secondary institution, or credit obtained by participating in the Explore program, for FR 250 Intermediate Spoken French. In either case, the student must fill out a Letter of Permission Application and receive approval from the Department of French Studies before enrolling in the transfer credit.
