The following specializations are open to all students majoring in Political Science. Political Science students may select only one specialization.
Canadian Politics Specialization
The Canadian Politics Specialization requires successful completion of six courses:
- PSCI 260/LS 206
- two of PSCI 302, PSCI 303, PSCI 331, PSCI 334/SOC 334, PSCI 360, PSCI 363/LS 363, PSCI 373
- one of PSCI 431, PSCI 433, PSCI 461, PSCI 462/LS 462, PSCI 463/LS 463
- two additional courses from any of the lists above
Global Governance Specialization
The Global Governance Specialization requires successful completion of six courses:
- PSCI 281, PSCI 283, PSCI 387, PSCI 389/LS 366
- two of PSCI 369/HIST 369, PSCI 375/LS 365, PSCI 404, PSCI 420, PSCI 432/ERS 404, PSCI 439, PSCI 480, PSCI 485, PSCI 486, PSCI 488/ERS 462/GEOG 462

Students may request to have special topics courses or courses taken on academic exchange accepted to meet the Global Governance requirements. For details, consult the Political Science undergraduate officer.
International Relations Specialization
The International Relations Specialization requires successful completion of six courses:
- PSCI 281, PSCI 282
- three of HIST 220, HIST 230/PSCI 257, HIST 268, HIST 275, HIST 282, HIST 311, HIST 315, HIST 350, HIST 369/PSCI 369, HIST 389
- one of PSCI 402, PSCI 481, PSCI 482, PSCI 486, PSCI 487
