Italian Studies

Italian Studies Minor

The Italian Studies program, based at St. Jerome's University on the University of Waterloo campus, is specifically tailored to offer a unique opportunity to learn the language of art, music, and la dolce vita while studying one of the truly seminal cultures and literatures of the western world either in the original Italian or in English.

Students enrolled in any degree program may pursue a minor designation in Italian Studies.

The Italian Studies Minor requires the successful completion of a minimum of four academic course units (eight courses) from the following set of Italian Studies core and approved courses with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:

  1. Before each term, students should consult the Italian Studies advisor at St. Jerome's University, or the Undergraduate Calendar, to make their course selection.  
  2. Students who have taken ITAL 101 and ITAL 102 are precluded from taking ITAL 155 and vice versa.
