Life Sciences and Physical Sciences are two of the entry points in Science for first-year students. Life Sciences plans include Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences (regular only), and Psychology. Physical Sciences plans include Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Life Physics, Materials and Nanosciences, Mathematical Physics, Medicinal Chemistry (co-op only), Physics and Astronomy, and Physics. Students selecting one of these entry points will be moved to the academic plan they listed as their Subject of Major Interest on their Ontario Universities' Applicant Centre (OUAC) application, unless they indicated Psychology. These students stay in Life Sciences for first year because Psychology is a second year entry program.
Environmental Science, Science and Aviation, and Science and Business, are three additional entry points for first-year students. Students selecting one of these entry points will be moved into the specialization they listed as their Subject of Major Interest on their OUAC application.
The other entry points include Biotechnology/Chartered Professional Accountancy, Biotechnology/Economics, and Honours Science. These plans continue into second year providing academic requirements are met.
The normal minimum term course load for a full-time student in Science is five lecture courses plus required labs per term.
