Arts Academic Plans

Economics

Honours Mathematical Economics

Continuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative minimum overall average of 60%, a cumulative minimum Economics average of 70%, and a cumulative minimum Mathematics average of 60%. Both regular and co-operative versions of this plan are available.

Eligibility for graduation in the Honours Mathematical Economics academic plan includes successful fulfilment of the following requirements:

  1. Appropriate Program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements.
  2. Economics Plan-level requirements:

Notes

  1. Students must achieve a cumulative average of at least 70% in all Economics courses counted towards the degree and a cumulative average of 60% in all mathematics courses counted towards the degree.
  2. For graduation and progression purposes, a student's averages will be calculated according to the practices of the faculty in which the student is formally registered. Should a student transfer from the Faculty of Mathematics to the Faculty of Arts (or vice versa), the student's average calculations may be revised to reflect the differing average calculation rules.
  3. ECON 201, ECON 211, and ECON 221 do not fulfil Economics course requirements for the Honours Mathematical Economics plan.
  4. At most two courses from the Faculty of Mathematics may have failing grades.

Arts and Business

Students enrolled in the Arts and Business academic plan may not select the Honours Mathematical Economics academic plan as their major.

Honours Double Majors

The Honours Mathematical Economics academic plan may not be taken in combination with any other major. For further information, see Available Arts Academic Plans.
