Arts Academic Plans

Students enrolled in any degree program may pursue a minor designation in Human Resources Management (HRM).

The Human Resources Management Minor requires successful completion of a minimum of four academic course units (eight courses) with a minimum cumulative average of 70%, including:

• one of AFM 102, AFM 123/ARBUS 102
• HRM 200
• two of PSYCH 238, PSYCH 339, PSYCH 340
• three of HRM 301, HRM 303, HRM 305, HRM 307
• one course from the balance of the courses above or from the following courses:
  • HRM 400
  • PSYCH 439
  • PSYCH 467 
  • one of MSCI 311, PACS 202

Notes

1. Students who have completed a Diploma in Human Resources Management or the course requirements for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or who have graduated from a college or university human resources or business program are precluded from enrolling in the Human Resources Management Minor or Diploma at Waterloo.
2. Students interested in pursuing the CHRP designation are advised to review the CHRP requirements and consult with the HRM program advisor before finalizing their HRM course selections.
