In order to continue in Honours Tourism Development, students must maintain a minimum cumulative major Recreation and Leisure Studies average of 70% and a minimum cumulative overall average of 65%.
Degree Requirements
- Recreation courses (minimum of 10.0 units):

REC 100, REC 101, REC 105, REC 120, REC 201, REC 230, REC 270, REC 280, REC 311, REC 356, REC 371, REC 373, REC 380, REC 405, REC 420, REC 480
- Recreation elective courses (minimum of 2.0 units):
Students must complete additional recreation electives to meet the required minimum of 10.0 recreation units.
- Note that MU353, Inclusive Arts for Children (1.0 unit) (see Laurier calendar), is accepted as a University of Waterloo recreation elective.
- All cross-listed courses with REC are counted as recreation electives and are included in the major average.
- Courses outside the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies (maximum of 10.0 units):
- Tourism development elective courses (5.0 units):

- The elective courses are used to fulfil the required number of recreation elective courses and free elective courses.
- Students are permitted to pursue a double major in any of Honours Recreation and Sport Business, Honours Therapeutic Recreation, and Honours Tourism Development, by meeting the requirements of each plan.
