Anthropology

Anthropology - Overview

Anthropology is the study of human evolution and of human cultures, past and present. The University of Waterloo's Anthropology program includes three of the discipline's traditional major sub-fields: Socio-cultural Anthropology, Archaeological Anthropology, and Biological (Physical) Anthropology.

Students studying Anthropology at the University of Waterloo learn techniques of research design and field methods, and about the diversity of human cultural practices and adaptations. Teaching labs (equipped with fossil casts, artefacts, and osteological specimens), digital media, and fieldwork opportunities bring classroom learning to life.
