English Language Proficiency Requirement

All students enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering are required to complete the English Language Proficiency requirement. The exact detail is slightly different for the BASc and BSE students and the BAS students. The table below summarizes these differences.

Note
Students who arrange a special sitting of the ELPE outside the scheduled dates will be assessed an administrative charge.

1Before taking the ELPE for a second time the student must participate in either the ELPE review at the Writing Centre or the more complete sessions at the Writing Centre. In addition, students are encouraged to review the ELPE preparation material on-line prior to taking the ELPE.
