Mennonite Studies

Diploma in Mennonite Studies

The Diploma in Mennonite Studies is open to non-degree or post-degree students.

Requirements

The Diploma in Mennonite Studies requires successful completion of a minimum of 2.5 academic course units (five courses) with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:

  1. List A (two courses required):
    ENGL 218 Mennonite Literature
    HIST 247 Mennonite History: A Survey
    HIST 348/RS 344 The Radical Reformation
    RS 352 Contemporary Mennonite Thought
    SOC 275 Mennonites as a Sociological Community
  2. List B (two courses required):
    HIST 235/RS 240 History of Christianity
    RS 235 Jesus: Life and Legacy
    RS 236 Paul: Life and Letters
    RS 250 History of Christian Thought
    RS 335 Unity and Diversity in the New Testament
  3. List C (one course required):
    CMW 363/MUSIC 363/RS 357 Christian Hymnody
    RS 256/PACS 320 Christian Approaches to Peacemaking
    RS 353 War and Peace in Christian Theology

Notes:

  1. Students should choose their courses in consultation with the Director of the plan.
  2. Students must adhere to Arts Faculty guidelines with respect to transfer credit from Bible Colleges.
