Three-Year General Italian StudiesContinuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative overall average of 60% and a cumulative average of 65% in Italian Studies core and approved courses. Eligibility for graduation in the Three-Year General Italian Studies academic plan includes successful fulfilment of the following requirements: - Appropriate BA Program-level requirements. See "BA Degree Requirements."
- Italian Studies Plan-level requirements:
- at least six academic course units (12 courses) from the following set of Italian Studies core and approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including:
- Italian Studies Core Courses
- four of ITAL 101, 102, 201, 202, 251; ITALST 291, 292; LAT 100A or 100B
- five of (taught in English) ITALST 111, 260, 270, 271, 360; ITAL/ITALST 311, 312, 391, 392, 394*, 396, 397
- Italian Studies Approved Courses
* Offered in Italy Italian Studies MinorStudents enrolled in Honours or Four-Year General Major academic plans in Arts, or in Honours academic plans in other faculties, may elect to pursue an Italian Studies Minor. The Italian Studies Minor requires the successful completion of a minimum of five academic course units (ten courses) from the following set of Italian Studies core and approved courses, with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including: - three of ITAL 101, 102, 201, 202, 251; LAT 100A or 100B
- five of (taught in English) ITALST 111, 260, 270, 271, 291, 292, 360; ITAL/ITALST 311, 312, 391, 392, 394*
- two courses from the following list of Italian Studies approved courses:

* Offered in Italy Italian Studies OptionStudents in any degree academic plan interested in Italian Studies as a complement to their studies may elect to pursue the Italian Studies Option. * Offered in Italy Notes for All Italian Plans- Before each term, students should consult Italian Studies at St. Jerome's University, or the undergraduate website, to make their course selection.
- ITAL/ITALST 311, 312, 391, 392, 396, 397 are offered in English as part of the three Italian Studies academic plans. However, students enrolled in these courses who are pursuing an Italian Language Minor will have additional contact time, in Italian, and will be required to do their readings and assignments in Italian. Such students will enrol in "ITAL" rather than in "ITALST."
St. Jerome's/Waterloo in CalabriaItalian Studies at St. Jerome's University, in conjunction with the Corso di Laurea in Lettere of the University of Calabria (Unical), offers term or full-year studies at the Italian university, under the auspices of the tripartite exchange agreement between SJU/UW and Unical. Students in various disciplines may apply, provided they have an adequate knowledge of Italian (normally ITAL 201, 202 or equivalent). Students enrolled in the various Italian Studies academic plans may transfer some or all units taken at Unical's above mentioned program of studies towards the fulfilment of their Plan at Waterloo, subject to UW Faculty of Arts residency requirements and transfer credit policies.
