HONOURS MAJOR ACADEMIC PLANS
Continuation in all Earth Sciences Honours Major Academic Plans requires an overall cumulative average of 60%, and a cumulative major average of 60%. In order to graduate the following requirements must be met:
- Successful completion of 20.0 lecture units; plus additional Year One and Two labs.
- In Year One and Two, Science courses must be taken with the lab if an optional lab is available.
- Normally, failure of more than one course in the field of specialization will result in the requirement to withdraw from the Academic Plan.
- No more than 1.5 "SCI"-labelled units may be used towards these Academic Plans.
- Mandatory courses as listed under the specific Academic Plans.
A breakdown of course-type requirements (in units) for each Academic Plan is provided below:

1 Normally excludes SCI and EARTH courses (Hydrogeology and Environmental Specialization students may take EARTH courses); optional Labs must be taken. Students who plan to do graduate work in Hydrogeology are advised to take CIVE 221 during their 4th year. Courses in the following table are acceptable Science/Mathematics electives. Other courses can be taken in consultation with an Undergraduate Advisor. Geophysics Specialization students should ensure that requirements for professional licensure will be met.
