The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science offers graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Mathematics (MMath) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Students typically carry out their graduate work in one of the research areas in which the faculty members are engaged, however some flexibility is possible in the choice of research topic. In addition to the regular Master's program, specialized programs are available in Software Engineering (ConGESE Master's), and Statistics and Computing. Students enrolled in the Honours Bachelor of Mathematics program at the University of Waterloo may want to consider the accelerated Bachelor's/Master's admission procedure. There is also a Co-op Option for the Master's program. For more detailed information, see Specialized Master's Programs below. Further information about graduate programs, faculty members, and research in Computer Science can be found at the home page of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science.
