On the University application form for admission to graduate work, the prospective student is required to indicate one or more areas of special interest. The description of areas of specialization in the Department may be useful in guiding such selection. Students who wish to be considered for a Special PhD Program should write directly to the Graduate Program Assistant for details well in advance of the application deadlines. (Refer to the section on Graduate Course Offerings for a description of the courses.)
