The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences offers a Master of Actuarial Science. The Master of Actuarial Science program is for strong candidates who have a first degree in a quantitative subject (not actuarial science) and who now want to fast-track through the preliminary, mathematical subjects of the professional actuarial curriculum.
Admission Requirements
Admission requirements for students admitted into the Master’s in Actuarial Science are as follows:

A four-year honour’s Bachelor’s degree with an overall A- (80%) average from a Canadian university (or its equivalent);

Some
English Language Proficiency requirements must also be met. Applicants who have not completed three or more years of post-secondary work at an institution at which English was the language of instruction, or have not been employed for a similar period of time in a position in which English was the language of business, are required to provide certification of English language proficiency with a minimum TOEFL score of 600, or a minimum of 90 on the Internet-based TOEFL (with a minimum of 24 in the speaking and writing sections) or the equivalent on a comparable test such as IELTS 6.5, CanTEST 4.5, CAEL 60 or MELAB 85;

The award of MActSc degree requires candidates to pass at least 12 courses, with an average grade of at least 70%.
