Earth Sciences offers a broad range of programs with a focus on the general area of Environmental Geology. Research is carried out in the interpretation of geologic and hydrogeologic processes, the description and interpretation of modern and ancient geologic environments, the response of geologic and hydrogeologic systems to man's interference, and many other topics. Special fields of study are:
- isotope hydrology and geochemistry
- water cycle modelling
- hydrogeology
- solid earth sciences
- aqueous and organic geochemistry
- atmospheric sciences
The student is encouraged, while specializing in one field, to become familiar with several in order to gain a sound appreciation of the diversity of Earth Sciences.
