School of Planning

Introduction

About Planning Programs
Printable Version Printable Version

The School of Planning offers postgraduate programs leading to both master's and doctoral degrees.

Both programs are designed for people with interests in applied research, policy and planning practice. Graduates work in both private and public sectors; in fields as diverse as health planning and national park planning and at scales ranging from neighbourhood to provincial/national planning.

Depending upon a students research interest, joint degrees can be arranged. In the past, for example, planning students have completed joint degrees with economics, earth science, gerontology, biology and philosophy.

Graduates of the MA/MES/PhD programs are eligible for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario affiliate Ontario Professional Planners Institute. The MAES program was implemented Fall 2003 and is currently under review by CIP for accreditation.

Deadline

Deadline for application to all Planning graduate programs is January 15th each year. Admission to the Planning programs is normally in September.

School of Planning requires additional information to the university application. Please refer to the School's website for the required additional information.
