Each year we offer Teaching Assistanships ($6,021 per term for 2006/2007), to qualified incoming Masters and PhD students. Masters students are normally awarded two one-term TA's over the duration of their program and four one-term TA's for doctoral candidates. (NOTE: the one-year MAES degree is an unfunded degree). Teaching Assistantships are normally payable over two terms beginning in September. In addition, students with a minimum 80% overall average may qualify for a University of Waterloo Entrance Scholarship (payable over three terms) or a University of Waterloo Scholarship (one-time payment). Students with these scholarships must be registered full-time and maintain a minimum overall average of 80%. Additional financial support is also available from several sources. Applications for external awards, such as those offered by OGS, SSHRC and NSERC, must be made in the fall of the year preceding the one for which support is sought. Further information about internal/external scholarships and awards can be found under Graduate Student Funding on the Graduate Studies Website.
